Ollymolly is currently on holiday but will be back in the office on Tuesday 9th June . I will be posting photos and telling you all about our company and products next week. Looking forward to getting set up.
After years of working as Woven Textile Designers in both fashion and furnishings in the UK Lyndsay McFarlane and I immigrated to South Africa in 2000. Recent years proved difficult due to the increasing demand for cheap imports from China and as a result the company were we worked closed its doors in 2004 after 30 years of manufacturing. Undefeated we put our knowledge and skills to the test and set up our own company designing and manufacturing woven bags out of recyclable materials. Sadly Lyndsay returned to the UK in September 2007 and I have been running the business alone since then.
Ollymolly was born from a passion for weaving and realizing we could incorporate the recycling factor. We began experimenting with the idea and concept in January 2005 with a mission to facilitate the handcrafting of unique woven products by women from local communities in the Western Cape.
Since April 2005 Ollymolly has been designing and manufacturing a product range consisting of bags, storage boxes, wallets & folders to purses & pouches for the younger market along with recently launched lampshades all of which is expanding through product development on a daily basis.
